Helen Putterman is of President of Cohen & Company, Inc. Real Estate and has been with the company since 1991. Over a 25 year career in retail real estate, Ms. Putterman has become one of the leading shopping center brokers and investment resources in the industry. With aggregate transaction experience exceeding $2 billion of transaction value throughout 35 states, Ms. Putterman is sought after for her expertise and advice on prospective transactions and investment opportunities by national and international shopping center community.

Ms. Putterman has cultivated a wide-ranging clientele of principals and senior representatives of investment institutions both large and small. Her diverse client base includes major institutional investors including large national publicly traded and privately-held REITs, such as Vornado, KIMCO, Developers Diversified, and Glimcher, to small strip owners and individual center operators. She is valued for her ability to accurately assess a deal's ultimate value and the timely pairing of principals.

During her career, Ms. Putterman has brokered an extensive list of complex deals. Noteworthy transactions include the acquisition of a development project in Gulfport, Mississippi, that was successfully developed into the largest open-air retail center in the state, and the leasing of over 650,000 square feet of new retail space in that project. Ms. Putterman brokered the landmark sale of Nassau Pavilions in Princeton, New Jersey, the largest open-air center at that time in New Jersey, with over 1 million square feet. In 1997, she sold the largest open-air center in the state of Arkansas. She brokered the sale of a portfolio of 18 Wal-Mart anchored shopping centers throughout the Midwest as well as a large portfolio of 20 Rite-Aid drugstores in the northeast. Ms. Putterman also sold the high-profile Garden State Pavilions power center in Cherry Hill, NJ, twice in a two month span, netting all principals exceptional returns.

Ms. Putterman is married, mother of two and a grandmother. She has managed to combine a successful business career with a rich family and personal life along with community contributions. An avid world traveler, alpine skier, and hiker, she never fails to see retail opportunity in the most unusual locations.
