Robert Friedman joined the firm in 2007 as Chief Executive Officer of Cohen Commercial Properties, LLC. Mr. Friedman has 18 years of investment and financial analysis experience in private equity and mergers and acquisition.

Mr. Friedman's experience includes being one of several founding partners of the Invemed Catalyst Fund, L.P., a private equity fund. The partnership raised and managed over $500 million in investable assets from institutional investors and high net worth private investors. Investments were in both publicly traded and privately-held assets and included co-investments with highly regarded private investment firms. Mr. Friedman was responsible for investment due diligence and portfolio maintenance, as well as having client responsibilities.

Prior to the founding of the Invemed Catalyst Fund, Mr. Friedman was with Lazard Freres & Co., in its mergers and acquisitions and its capital markets groups. During that time, he worked on a variety of valuation, merger, divestiture and related assignments for companies with valuations from $200 million to multi-billion.

Mr. Friedman also has experience as a principal of a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm serving private equity funds and private investors, and as a chief executive officer of an investment firm. Earlier in his career, he was a professional in the audit group of Coopers & Lybrand, LLC, and worked in private industry.

He is a graduate of Boston University with a B.A. degree from the School of Management, and of New York University's Leonard Stern School of Business with an MBA degree. He is married and has two children.
