Jay’s “can-do” attitude, enthusiasm, focus and conversational style enable him to engage with and clearly explain tough tax issues to clients — which can be just as important as understanding the technical concepts themselves. But Jay takes client service to another level, remaining passionate about building entire teams that result in exceptional client service.
Jay entered public accounting in 2003, spending the first 13 years of his career in the tax department of a global accounting firm. He specializes in providing tax services for regulated investment companies (RICs), including exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds and closed-end funds. Jay’s client base also includes hedge funds, private equity funds and fund-of-funds. Leading large and diverse client service teams focused on a wide range of tax related investment management issues, Jay is well versed in federal, state and international taxation of financial instruments, accounting methods and product structures.
Jay lives in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, with his wife and their three children. While Jay is more than happy living in the Midwest, his true passion lies in seeing the world. He has traveled to more than 20 countries, has been to his favorite city (Bangkok, Thailand) 14 times and lived in India for two years.
