Leadership Mahoning Valley has chosen Senior Tax Manager Tarik Awad as one of 43 individuals named to the 2025 class.
The immersive leadership program spans a 10-month period focused on professional and personal leadership development. The program includes a series of speakers, tours, hands-on activities and site visits to learn about programs, services, businesses and institutions in the community.
Tarik, who provides tax planning and compliance services primarily to manufacturers, auto dealers and business owners in the region, is not a newcomer to the leadership role. A recipient of Mahoning Valley Young Professionals’ 2023 25 Under 35 award, he has taken an active leadership role in attracting and retaining talent to the firm’s Youngstown office. Tarik has been instrumental in recruiting and helping to initiate and cultivate relationships with Youngstown State University, volunteering to assist with interviewing, class projects, guest speaking and even helping teach classes. Tarik also serves as a leader on the Junior Achievement Board and within Cohen & Co’s Youngstown office, leading various volunteer and community involvement activities.
