Corey McLaughlin, CPA

Corey is a genuine person who believes very strongly in developing true partnerships with others, so they are more than confident he will be there for them in whatever way they need. Corey is open and honest in his advice, and is respected for providing perspective that is well measured with practicality.

As Cohen & Co’s Chief Operating Officer, Corey provides strategic oversight to the firm’s service lines, and Technology & Operations Services and People & Culture departments. Always committed to helping the firm achieve its goals of being the Employer of Choice and maximizing operational efficiencies, he is responsible for connecting the firm’s service lines and its infrastructure teams that support them. In addition, Corey leads critical strategic initiatives to ensure the firm continues to grow and prosper while providing excellent client service.

Prior to serving as COO, Corey held the position of Partner in Charge of People & Culture, where he created and executed strategies that allowed the entire team to grow, thrive and prosper in their lives and careers. He also served as an industry leader, responsible for the strategic direction, growth and development related to work with hedge funds, commodity pools and digital asset funds. In addition to his industry leadership role, as an assurance partner Corey worked directly with clients in the investment industry to provide accounting, auditing, investors’ representative, attestation and consulting services to a wide variety of entities, with a particular area of expertise in audit and consulting for funds that trade digital assets.

Corey lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and their two children. He likes to spend his spare time running and staying involved with his children’s activities.
