Don’s approachable and unassuming nature allows him to form strong bonds with clients. He is engaging, collaborative and, while always taking his work seriously, applies a lightheartedness to situations that resonates and helps put clients at ease.

Beginning his career in public accounting in 1987, Don’s expansive background beyond that includes working in private industry and providing private family office services. He also has worked on domestic based and international based tax compliance. In its entirety, Don’s experience and unique exposure gives him a specific skillset to help clients today — primarily offering tax consulting and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals and their families, particularly for those working and living outside their country of origin/citizenship. His expertise includes tax planning and compliance for U.S. expatriates working overseas, foreign nationals working in the U.S., pre-departure and post-assignment tax consultations, ensuring applicable foreign reporting (FBAR, FATCA, 5471, etc.) and disclosures, and interacting with applicable tax authorities on clients’ behalf. Don also specializes in Bermuda based U.S. individual tax compliance.

Don lives in Cleveland, Ohio, with his life partner Cindy. Together, they enjoy making memories with his two adult daughters and their families, including two grandchildren. Don also loves traveling, the outdoors and boating on Lake Erie. Formerly an avid marathon runner, Don has completed multiple Boston marathon races!
