Gretchen Sampson, CPA

Beyond conscientious, Gretchen takes it upon herself to understand clients’ unique needs. She is dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality financial and operational support clients can count on. Also equipped with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, Gretchen takes clients’ successes to heart, as if they were her own.

With over 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors, Gretchen has a deep background in the real estate industry that also includes serving in financial roles within large development and construction companies. As a result of her background, she specializes in accounting and monthly reporting processes for national commercial, development and consolidated clients. Gretchen routinely interfaces with the firm’s Tax Practice to optimize tax workflow and coordinate information needed for return preparation, review and filing. Additionally, she plays an active role in partnership, draw development and fund accounting, collaborating with colleagues in the preparation of annual audits and GAAP/NCREIF PREA reporting standards. Gretchen also has led the implementation of various computer accounting systems and has experience with multiple software packages.

The youngest of eight siblings, Gretchen lives in northern Illinois with her husband and three daughters and loves spending time with her large extended family. Gretchen is an avid reader, with a particular love for historical fiction. She also loves to travel with family and friends, most recently enjoying a girls’ trip to Italy.
