Phil Ryan, CPA, MBA

Phil brings great energy and a comprehensive business viewpoint to every conversation, always trying to connect the dots for clients and colleagues with an eye toward measurable improvement. Accordingly, he doesn’t shy away from having tough conversations, whether it’s a recommendation for new processes and efficiencies, or a tax-savings idea that could help enhance profits over the long-term.

Phil started in public accounting in 2001, spending more than a decade at a global firm and leading audit and attest engagements for a range of companies for over 25 years. Bringing his expertise to the Office of the CFO Group, Phil works with C-level executives of closely held, private equity-backed and publicly traded companies to provide outsourced technical and financial reporting support for complex issues. His experience extends to renewable energy, industrial and consumer products, manufacturing, distribution and wholesale, and professional service clients whose annual revenues range from a few million dollars to $6 billion. Even when working on technical engagements, Phil makes time to talk with, and listen to, business owners and financial leaders to understand their operational needs — helping them uncover opportunities ranging from tax to technology, and facilitating key introductions to other subject matter experts along the way.

Phil lives in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, with his wife and their four children. In addition to staying active playing pickleball, golfing and boating, Phil remains very involved in his kids’ sports and activities (including serving as their personal Uber driver). To relax, he loves traveling to new destinations each year, watching Cleveland sports, and spending time outside with his family and friends.
