Valerie Steppel, CPA

Valerie is diligent through all stages of an engagement, working with a “measure twice, cut once” mentality. Clients trust her because she’s transparent and is willing to collaborate with them at every stage, while bringing a bit of fun to the process. Valerie also enjoys educating clients, helping them understand the reasoning behind decisions and keeping them up to date on accounting standards.

Valerie began her public accounting career in 2021. Specializing in assurance services for private companies, she particularly focuses on revenue recognition, debt and equity transactions, and incentive unit plans for clients in the technology and life science industry. She also works with companies preparing for a liquidity event or private equity investment, bridging the gap between business operations and reporting demands. Valerie also serves not-for-profit organizations.

Living in Chicago, Illinois, allows Valerie to explore the vibrant and diverse culinary scene across the city’s many neighborhoods. However, a Colorado native and country music fan, you can often find her traveling west for a rodeo or concert, often with her friends and sisters.
