They appreciate his willingness to dig deeper when needed, researching issues to offer a thorough analysis of the situation and to help clients fully understand the potential tax and non-tax consequences of a decision.

Beginning his career in 2011 working primarily with private companies, Jonathan later gained critical experience working for the AICPA’s tax policy and advocacy groups focused on partnerships and S Corporations. In that role, he contributed to comment letters and discussions with Treasury and the IRS on Schedules K-2 and K-3, the BBA partnership audit regime, Revenue Procedure 2022-19, corporate alternative minimum tax and energy credit aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act, and time compression issues affecting tax professionals. Today, Jonathan focuses on partnership tax issues, primarily for investment funds. His expertise includes foreign investors and investments, state and local compliance, and tiered structuring. Jonathan's other areas of specialized expertise include partnership formation and liquidation, waterfall and other special allocations, and partner redemptions; as well as REIT and UPREIT transactions, like-kind exchanges and disguised sale transactions.
