Marc understands the importance of strong relationships. Whether a new client or a new staff member, he takes the time to know everyone on the team. Marc believes in open two-way communication, so clients never feel left in the dark, and he tries to bring a lighthearted tone to the often serious topic of tax.
Marc has worked in the investment management and funds industry, including multiple tax positions at Boston based advisers and service providers, since beginning his tax and accounting career in 1994. In 1999, he began working specifically in public accounting and spent over 20 years at a Big 4 firm, specializing in the taxation of Regulated Investment Companies (RICs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), BDCs, fund-of-fund structures, blocker corps and hedge funds. Marc has extensive experience with ASC 740 and tax controversy issues specific to RICs.
A lifelong resident on Massachusetts’ South Shore, Marc’s great passions are family and hockey. He has played or coached hockey since childhood and continues to skate weekly with friends and some of his former players. In addition to playing hockey, Marc is a fan of college hockey, college football and Boston’s pro sports teams. With the youngest of their five children now in college, Marc and his wife look forward to their annual family vacation — Cape May and Cuttyhunk Island among their favorites.
