Syed brings his calm, composed demeanor to every audit and advisory engagement, seeking to make the process as smooth as possible. Clients find him approachable, easy to work with and respect his technical background and knowledge stretching across a wide array of the investment industry.
Syed serves a variety of the firm’s most sophisticated and complex investment industry audit fund clients, including interval, tender offer, hedge, private equity and funds‐of‐funds. He also has experience with asset managers, public companies and Sarbanes‐Oxley 404 internal controls. In addition to working at two large national public accounting firms, Syed served as the assistant controller for a Chicago-based registered investment adviser with assets under management exceeding $250 billion. In that role, he led his team in corporate financial planning and analysis, risk reporting, annual business plan preparation, forecasting and board book preparation.
Syed lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and three children. When he’s not involved with his kids’ activities, Syed enjoys outdoor activities, working out and occasionally binging TV shows. He also loves to travel, with hiking with friends at Yosemite National Park topping his list of favorite trips to date.
